Happy 4th of July to everyone! Hope you've all enjoyed some sunshine, some fireworks and some good food! We've had a wonderful week. After enjoying a great visit with Nana/Opa & Baba last weekend, we've finally been enjoying some GOOD weather around here. Eve is now officially 9 months old - if you can believe it - and had her well child check earlier this week. Weighing in at 17.5 pounds, our little love nugget is right on the 50th percentile mark for everything. Good stuff. :)
This holiday weekend we lucked out by having Erik home with us for all three days. Holy Moly. We almost don't know what to do when we have that much time together, so we packed in A LOT over the 3 days. We went to the Des Moines Zoo on Saturday which was just wonderful. This was the first trip ever and Iris couldn't get enough of it. Eve might have slept most of the day in the stroller....but there's always next year. I think the highlight of the trip for Iris was the ride on the "coo-coo train". The rest of the weekend was filled with time at the park, time at the playground, time at Jazz Fest downtown (and yes, Erik ate another giant turkey leg) and a lot of time in the backyard with the baby pool. It finally feels like summer around here!

I think we'll have to call you! Then we can gush in person - sort of.
