On the move...backwards

This girl has got some yoga poses that make me jealous - check out that plank position!!! She also does a backbend that cracks me up that I put on here - stretched all the way up so that the bottom and lower back are completely off the floor. (a la "Miss Shelly's Play the Piano!") So silly!

And speaking of silly...yep...my girl is a unicorn. :) I decided we should try a braid, and man oh man, am I glad we did!

We're officially "on the move" too, only we haven't quite mastered moving forward. Iris started scooting backwards when my parents were in town a few weeks ago, but is now officially moving backwards at a pretty good clip. She moves forward occasionally, but she's got reverse mastered. It's pretty funny to watch her back into the wall and get stuck, back under the couch and get stuck, etc., and I think she thinks it's pretty funny too!

We're sitting up when we're totally into a toy and are cajoled by Mom, but truly, don't have much interest in trying. Anytime we pull up to try to sit, she goes straight to standing. And standing has turned into bouncing. She's one strong cookie, just not the least bit interested in sitting up!

Oh, and guess who's favorite food is peas now!

Aunts and new pants! :)

So we had a big week and so much fun!!! Aunt Donna and Aunt Kimmy came into town this past weekend and it was awesome to see them and spend so much time together. I think that Iris liked it too. :) I KNOW that Iris loved the awesomely incredible purple outfit that Aunt Kimmy brought her. Seriously. TOO CUTE.

Squishy face!

So this past week we learned that Iris has a squishy face. :) We also had a play date with Leah, and learned that babies can actually steamroll each other. AND, (dun dun dun!!!) we had a wonderful visit from Gran and Poppy! Had a great weekend, had tons of fun, laughed a lot... and then realized that we only took this one picture. :( Shame on us! I guess that means that we'll just have to do it again soon!

6 months oh my

Short post for a long weekend. :) Iris hit the 6 month mark yesterday, and it seems like everyday we're launching into more real "babyhood". Games, food, giggles and movements...everything is more "real baby" like! We've found that Iris doesn't care much for peas, is really into putting her hand in your mouth and then squealing with pride over the accomplishment, and likes to take naps with Daddy while football is on the TV. We had a wonderful holiday weekend and hope you did too!
