Color Vote!

So I'm officially enlisting the help of anyone who cares to vote, because Erik and I are having a small difference of opinion on colors for the baby's room (or lair...as Erik is now calling it). I'm not going to tell you who stands on what side, but rather just pose the question:

Is it crazy to have two complementary colors on a wall separated by say, a wallpaper border, (lighter on top, darker on bottom) or is that too much craziness and is simplicity better? Should we just go with one solid color for the walls?

And I should probably let it be known that my husband IS letting me have my "own way" regardless of what he thinks...which he said last night is really only worth 20% of any baby decision to be made in the first place. While that holds true (I mean, duh) it's important to me that he doesn't hate the room.

So. I leave it to you guys. Majority rules.

My vote is for a solid color, or, if you want more interest, then a complementary color on the accent wall. That's mostly just because I have an aversion to wallpaper borders (or wallpaper in any form) because of the effort of putting them up and taking them down. And even though I may be betraying my own flesh and blood, I have to agree that Beth gets final say, since she'll probably be in the room more often.

Why don't you sign up for an HGTV makeover for the baby room and just let some crazy designer do it for you? It worked for us!

Seriously though....I'm not a fan of wallpaper either, but am no against multiple colors. I know, I'm not voting correctly, but hey you got my opinion!

In my opinion I think wallpaper borders are kinda cute in baby/kids rooms - but I think you will get annoyed with it sooner rather than later. But I am all for the complementary colors - border or no border. Let those creative juices flow!!

Erik knows what color I eventually painted my walls as a kid so my vote probably carries negative weight, but I distinctly remember taking down the wallpaper as a chore and a half so I'd go with an all-paint approach. Lauren's right more often than not so accent walls might be a good call...

Keep up the posts, y'all - great to catch the scoop from afar! Much love!

2 words: CRIMSON & CREAM!
(ok, maybe that was 3 words... or 2 full words and a conjunction symbol... does an ampersand count? ok, i just tested it in Word's "word count" function, and it did come up as 3 words. well, regardless, it's 2 colors. 3 words, 2 colors, 7 national championships, 24 bowl victories, 41 conference titles, 5 wonderful years.)
